MEET THE BUILDER

Ryan Oswalt

As a lifelong resident of central Iowa, I call the area my home with a tremendous amount of pride. While growing up in Des Moines and Ankeny, I formed a strong connection to the area, people, and values of our booming communities and neighborhoods. I have not only had the pleasure of watching these communities grow over the last few decades, but have been fortunate enough to play a significant role in the industry that literally builds them. I now happily reside in Granger with my lovely wife and two children.

Growing up, I quickly realized that I had a passion for carpentry and spent countless hours learning the intricacies of woodworking and home building. I started out in the industry working for a California-based production framer, and found that I not only loved the trade, but had a natural knack for it as well. Soon after, I found myself managing a crew and decided I wanted to turn my passion into a career of my own. I began leaving my mark in the area in 2001 upon the formation of Oswalt Construction, and later started Xtreme Builders in 2004, which I still successfully own and operate today under Empire Homes.

From day one, I have made it my mission to do things the right way, and I wanted my passion for quality to be evident in every home I touched. If I have learned anything from my time in the housing industry, it's that reputations are earned not by what you say, but what you do; not by the house on the blueprint in ink and paper, but the finished product. You don't have to look very hard to find a builder who claims to value quality and client satisfaction above all else, but finding one who is willing to exceed expectations isn't quite as easy. I embrace this challenge and I have built my own reputation around a handful of core values: honesty, dependability, hard work, and most importantly, quality. I know what it takes to build superior homes, which is why I will allow only the best subcontractors to build your home (more specifically, my team at Xtreme Builders).
